Ryan Garcia ruled out Jake Paul vs Ryan Garcia will not be happening, according to boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya. The Golden Boy Promotions CEO, who promotes Garcia, says their different broadcast deals make the fight impossible. “I wake up to calls from reporters asking about Jake Paul and Ryan Garcia,” the head of Golden Boy Promotions said on Saturday. “Let me tell you why this fight isn’t going to happen. Ryan Garcia fights for DAZN, and Jake Paul fights on Netflix. I mean, that’s pretty much the bottom line. “Golden Boy has a contract with DAZN, and Ryan Garcia has a contract with Golden Boy, and that’s just the way it is. I mean this is business. Ryan Garcia is probably going to go on a rant saying you’re keeping me from making money and this and that. No, you have to go by the law and by the rules. “You have a contract with DAZN and Golden Boy. It doesn’t happen that way. Ryan Garcia’s next fight will be announced by me, who he’s fighting and when he’s fighting next.” Garcia is expected to box WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in the first quarter of 2026.
