Four ‘Real Housewives’ Get ‘Wife Swap’ Treatment in New Bravo Series

Four Real Housewives are getting the wife swap treatment for a new Bravo series.
For the previously announced Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, the network has revealed the chosen stars from the hit Housewives franchise who will swap with real housewives, in a reality TV social experiment and mash-up with the Wife Swap reality series (and Celebrity Wife Swap series).
Angie Katsanevas from Salt Lake City, Emily Simpson from Orange County, Melissa Gorga from New Jersey and Dr. Wendy Osefo from Potomac will star in the four-episode event series that launches Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes will stream next day on Peacock, with each episode releasing weekly.
Based on the hit global Wife Swap format, each standalone episode follows a different Real Housewife and real wife as they navigate “swapping their everyday comforts and luxuries to fully immerse themselves in a vastly different familial experience,” says Bravo.
Here’s more of the description: “Through unexpected conflicts, eye-opening moments and emotional breakthroughs, the journey challenges everything they thought they knew about themselves and the world around them. Through this process, the Real Housewives will question if they can appreciate the lives they left behind and conversely, the real wives will question whether the aspirational lives showcased on reality TV are truly as glamorous as they appear.”
The series launches with Katsanevas swapping with an “off-the-grid homesteader and former Mormon,” Lindsay Flake, in Idaho whose family lives without electricity, running water or rules; followed by Dr. Osefo swapping with a “free-spirited Floridian” named Alethea Shapiro, who prioritizes fun, independence, absolutely no rules and … ferrets on Oct. 21; Gorga swapping with a “disorganized vegan and Double Dutch enthusiast” named Michelle Clark on Oct. 28; and Simpson swapping with New Jersey native Caley Svensson for an “old-school marriage with hands-off dad” Erik Svensson on Nov. 4.
Per the loglines, the reality series social experiment will test if Angie can survive without her beloved materialistic items; if Dr. Wendy can find the balance between structure and fun; whether or not Michelle can take a page from a perfectionist lifestyle; and if Emily will realize how good she has it at home. The trailer (below) shows that the experience ends up being transformative for all parties involved.
