Four new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) were approved for Telangana, in addition to the existing 35. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) under Civil sector across the country. Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, in a post on X on Thursday (October 1, 2025) stated that they would cover 17 States and Union Territories including Telangana.
BJP leader from Telangana and Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy said the four new KVs in Telangana are in Bhadradri Kothagudem headquarters, Mulugu headquarters; Jagtial – Jagtial Rural Mandal – Chelgal and Wanaparthi – Nagavaram Sivar.
“The Kendriya Vidyalayas primarily cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education. While the KVs in Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mulugu will provide more education opportunities keeping in mind they have been affected by decades of Left Wing Extremism, Bhadradri Kothagudem is also an Aspirational District,” said Mr. Reddy. He recalled Union Government’s budget for PM-SHRI Schools, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Telangana.
