Former WWE Talent Reveals Stunning Reason She Hasn't Returned to Wrestling

Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin has reflected on the one-year anniversary of her departure from the company. She took to social media to mark the occasion and provided an update on her non-compete clause. Irvin left WWE prior to the October 21, 2024, edition of Monday Night Raw. Her exit led to the return of legendary announcer Lilian Garcia, who took over her duties on the red brand. In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Irvin looked back on the past year. She also reminded fans of her contractual obligations following her exit. “One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Can’t wait,” Irvin wrote. “I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories as fondly as I do! Love & miss you all and remember- I NEVER left FOR music, I am music. Hope to see you soon…” More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT – JANUARY 28: A WWE logo shines from the WWE world headquarters on January 28, 2024 in Stamford, Connecticut. Her message confirms she is under a standard two-year non-compete clause, meaning she cannot work for another wrestling promotion until October 2026. She also clarified that pursuing a music career was not the reason she left WWE, but rather an integral part of her identity. One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Her departure was a surprise to many within the WWE Universe. Earlier in 2025, Irvin had made a “guarantee” that she would return to the world of professional wrestling at some point in the future. Her latest post reiterates her love for the business and her intention to return once her non-compete clause expires. While Samantha Irvin waits for her non-compete clause to expire, the WWE ring announcer positions are currently held by Lilian Garcia on Raw and Alicia Taylor on SmackDown and NXT. With Survivor Series: WarGames approaching, Irvin’s distinct style is missed by many fans, but her message confirms she intends to bring that energy back to wrestling in one year’s time.
