Former WWE Star Calls for Faction Reunion

Jinder Mahal believes it’s time for a 3MB reunion. The former WWE star, who now competes as Raj Dhesi, recently had an interview on “The Click and Tell show.” He discussed various topics, including his recent marriage and his time in WWE. Mahal, McIntyre, and Slater were famously grouped as 3MB (Three Man Band) from 2012 to 2014. The gimmick portrayed them as aspiring rock stars who often lost their matches. During the interview, Mahal was shown the very first photo he posted on Instagram, which was a picture of 3MB. This prompted Mahal to reflect on the journey that all three members of the group have had since the group disbanded. “What I see when I look at that picture is just the journey, almost 15 years, right? Independently, all three of us, so many ups and downs.” The group was split in 2014, and Mahal noted the paths he and McIntyre took to redefine their careers. “When the three of us split, Me and Drew, going away for a while, reinventing ourselves. Heath, reinventing himself.” Mahal’s reinvention led him to the WWE Championship in 2017. McIntyre’s journey led him to win the 2020 “Royal Rumble” and headline “WrestleMania” for the same title. Mahal joked that it is now time for Heath Slater to follow their lead and complete the trifecta. “Me and Drew, becoming world champions, WWE champions. So now it’s on Heath Slater to become world champion.” Jinder Mahal also explained why he felt the 3MB gimmick worked from a performance standpoint. He believes the group succeeded internally because none of the members had an ego, and they genuinely had fun working together. He did, however, mention that the group did not receive much support from the WWE fans during their original run. Mahal noted that fan perception has changed significantly over time. In fact, the trio was often used as enhancement talent. He noted that the group now has a different perception among fans. “I think now enough time has passed where it’s kind of people have nostalgia. They kind of miss 3MB, and they remember the good times, but at that time, we didn’t have a whole lot of support, not like now.” This shift in fan perspective is why Mahal believes the group should reform. “But I think the band has to reform. Maybe have a reunion tour of some sort.” With all three members currently in very different places in their respective careers, a full-on 3MB reunion seems unlikely. Fans can still hope that they might share the screen again for a one-off moment in the future. Mahal, who now wrestles as Raj Dhesi, is currently recovering from knee surgery following his WWE release in April 2024. Drew McIntyre is a top heel on “WWE SmackDown” and is coming off an unsuccessful challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes at “Saturday Night’s Main Event.” More WWE News: Released WWE Superstar Retires From Pro Wrestling Released WWE Star Breaks Silence On Departure Released WWE Star Wants To Join AEW For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
