Former Wizards star John Wall to join team's TV broadcast

Former Washington Wizards star guard John Wall is joining the team’s TV broadcast crew for the 2025-26 NBA season. Wall, a five-time All-Star, will serve as a studio analyst on “Wizards Pregame Live” and “Wizards Postgame Live,” according to a news release from Monumental Sports Network. He will make his debut on Nov. 8 when the Wizards host the Dallas Mavericks at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Wall joins the Wizards’ broadcast team two months after he announced his retirement from the NBA. He played nine of his 11 seasons for the Wizards, which drafted the former Kentucky star first overall in the 2010 NBA Draft. In nine seasons with the Wizards, Wall earned five consecutive All-Star selections from 2014-18, was named All-Defensive Second Team in 2014-15 and All-NBA Third Team in 2016-17, when he and finished seventh in MVP voting. In addition to Wall, former Wizards center Brendan Haywood will also join MNMT’s Wizards broadcasts as a color commentator for select games. He will make his debut Nov. 1 when the Wizards host the Orlando Magic. “John and Brendan are not only beloved figures in Wizards history, but they also bring a wealth of basketball knowledge, insight, and personality that fans will instantly connect with,” Zach Leonsis, president of media & new enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said in the release. “John and Brendan will add invaluable perspective and expert analysis as this young Wizards team continues to grow and develop. We’re thrilled to have them both join our broadcast family and continue their connection to the D.C. community.”
