The Attorney General Office public ministry has formally filed an indictment against the former director of the National Institute of Traffic and Ground Transport (Intrant), Hugo Beras and against state contractor José Ángel Gómez Canaán (Jochi), and seven other individuals. They face serious charges related to the alleged sabotage of the Greater Santo Domingo’s traffic light system and terrorism offenses, N Digital reports. The formal accusation, deposited before the Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District, alleges that the defendants participated in coordinated maneuvers that significantly impacted the functionality of the traffic control network. According to the case file, the actions of the accused caused coordinated failures across the traffic light grid, thereby jeopardizing both road and public safety. The Public Ministry is now requesting the court to proceed to a full trial against the nine individuals implicated in the alleged plot to disrupt the city’s essential transit infrastructure.
