A former popular WWE star fired amid controversy recently shared an update on a potential return to the company. Many fans remember the powerful and entertaining promos cut by Enzo Amore and Big Cass between their runs in NXT and the main roster. However, neither of them is with the company today. Enzo, who now goes by the ring name “Real1,” appeared in an interview for the “No Contest Wrestling” podcast on “The Rich Eisen Show,” presented by wrestling fans O’Shea Jackson and T.J. Jefferson. During the conversation, he spoke about various topics, including WWE and how John Cena and Triple H helped his career. He also mentioned the possibility of returning to WWE and made some intriguing remarks about a potential return while working with other wrestling promotions. “People ask me all the time, bro, ‘When are you going back to the WWE?’ and it’s the most common question I get everywhere I go,” Enzo said. “To be honest with you, I’ve never called them. I’ve reached out via text message. I’ve gotten responses, which is cool, but I’ve never actually picked up the phone, and they’ve never called me, that’s for damn sure,” he said, adding, “So I don’t answer that question with a ‘it’s definitely gonna happen or it’s definitely not gonna happen.’ I just don’t know if it will ever happen,” he explained. I’m a star and you knew it the first time you saw me,” he said, adding about his confidence that he once told Shane McMahon he doesn’t “have a nervous bone in his body.” WWE initially suspended Enzo in January 2018 due to allegations against him and then fired him before a scheduled Cruiserweight Championship match at the Royal Rumble. According to The Sportster, the investigation into Enzo’s situation was dropped in 2018. Months after being fired, Enzo appeared in the crowd for a surprising incident at Survivor Series 2018 in Los Angeles. As Newsweek reported, he caused a commotion by standing on his seat in an attempt to hijack the crowd. That resulted in security removing him from the venue and possibly banning him from returning. After all that, according to Enzo, he doesn’t hold any bitterness or resentment towards WWE for his release, and he admitted that being there was a significant part of his career. “I’ve been a blessed man with timing. Timing being my debut,” he also said on “No Contest Wrestling,” indicating he first thought that Paul “Triple H” Levesque and “the brass” were holding him and Big Cass back, but their Raw debut happened at the ideal time. “I got introduced to people, places, and things that I would’ve never seen,” Enzo said regarding WWE, adding, “I am grateful for my time there.” Enzo also indicated he was a “spoiled brat” with working at WWE, since other aspiring wrestlers came up from independent wrestling promotions to get there, and he didn’t. He’s received more experience in the indies since then. His WWE career spanned 2012 to 2018 and included him winning the Cruiserweight Championship twice. Upon his release from WWE, he worked with Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Major League Wrestling (MLW), and various independent promotions. He’s appearing with 4th Rope Wrestling, a newer promotion created by hip-hop star Westside Gunn to merge culture and wrestling. The wrestling promotion is advertising an Oct. 30 show at Six Flags called Heels Have Eyes featuring matches, music, and meet-and-greets, including The Hardys, The Good Brothers, Enzo, and more.
