Former Bond Girl, 83, Is a Blonde Beauty in Selfies With Pup

Key Points Britt Ekland, 83, is thriving, healthy, and visibly enjoying life with her dog. She believes future Bond girls should be “athletic” and “chosen for her natural beauty.” Ekland embraces aging, saying, “getting older happens to everyone... It’s pointless complaining about it.” Former Bond Girl Britt Ekland is loving life at 83 and looks better than ever. The Swedish actress, who rose to fame in several films during the ’60s and earned acclaim for her role opposite Roger Moore in the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun, had several other highly successful projects throughout the years, like The Wicker Man and Get Carter. She was also known for several high-profile romances, like her marriage to iconic star Peter Sellers, and later relationships with Rod Stewart, Lou Adler, and Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom. But these days, Ekland is happy, healthy, and looking absolutely incredible. Still sporting her iconic blonde hair, the actress was spotted posting sweet selfies alongside her chihuahua/miniature pinscher, Bowie, who even has his own Instagram page! The duo attended a Neil Young concert at The Painted Turtle in California, and it’s safe to say it was a success. “With my Rock n’ Roll Hound @bowieekland at @thepaintedturtlecamp fantastic day/evening with the only @neilyoungarchives,” Ekland captioned the photo set. Ekland told the UK’s Times that the right woman “should be attractive … chosen for her natural beauty. And she should be athletic.” “I think that’s very important because the role generally involves running, jumping, and a little bit of fighting. It involves moving your body,” Ekland continued. The actress has strong feelings about the issues because she’s just so proud of the legacy. It’s also a tremendous responsibility to carry. “I’m the proudest Bond girl there is because there are not a lot of us left, and there won’t be any in the future,” Ekland told The Guardian back in 2020. In the past, she pointed out in a piece in The Independent that modern Bond girls have it harder than she did since there are “so many demands” on them. “The Bond girl has to look good in a bikini: that was her role … The Bond girl of my era exists no more because they’re not presented that way. You wouldn’t see her in a bikini next to Daniel Craig in a suit today,” Ekland said. “The PR department would make sure that didn’t happen.” She Loves Getting Older At 83, Ekland is feeling great. A grandmother and dog owner, she’s living life to the fullest. Back in 2021, she told Platinum Magazine that she’s really embraced the concept of aging gracefully, Page Six reported. “I feel great now, better than I have for many years … getting older happens to everyone,” she said. “It’s pointless complaining about it or wishing you could change.” Ekland understands that aging is something you can’t fight, so you might as well embrace it. “We’re all going in one direction and there is nothing we can do about that,” she concluded. “It’s just about looking after yourself while on that journey.”
