Football Manager 26 makes huge new addition in 'landmark moment in series' history'

Women’s football will be available in Football Manager 26 for the first time ever in what is being described as a “landmark moment” for the hit game series. Rather than just adding women into the game as a standalone mode, developers Sports Interactive said they collaborated with leading players, managers, clubs, and organisations from around the world to ensure women’s football is represented as authentically and realistically as possible. That includes everything from player databases to finances, contracts, injuries, and matchday motion capture. The women’s database in FM26 consists of more than 36,000 players and a further 5,000 non-players as part of 14 playable leagues across 11 nations and three continents. The Women’s Super League is also fully licensed with official player photos, club logos and kits. After months of speculation, FM26 will launch on November 4, offering footie fans the chance to immerse themselves in the heart of the beautiful game. For the first time, FM26 will be powered by the Unity Engine, revamping the entire managerial experience. Also launching on day one is Football Manager 26 Console, bringing the new era of football management to Xbox and PlayStation 5 users. Both FM26 Console (Xbox) and FM26 (PC/Mac) will be available via Xbox Game Pass. Football Manager 26 Touch is set to make a comeback on Nintendo Switch for its eighth season, with a digital launch scheduled for December 4. Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson said: “Setting Sports Interactive up for the next 20 years and beyond was an enormous undertaking but I couldn’t be prouder of the efforts of the whole team over the past 2 years. “FM26 represents a landmark release in our quest to produce football management perfection and the whole studio is really excited to share it with the world.”
