Football Manager 2026 release date confirmed – and it's just weeks away

After months of speculation and a cancellation , Football Manager 26 is set to launch across various platforms from November 4, offering footie fans the chance to immerse themselves in the heart of the beautiful game. For the first time, FM26 will be powered by the Unity Engine, revamping the entire managerial experience and setting a new benchmark in Sports Interactive’s and SEGA’s illustrious history. Every match promises more drama and spectacle with new volumetric animations from real-life matches and stunningly upgraded on-pitch visuals. With the newly-licensed Premier League, FM26 offers unprecedented authenticity, setting the stage for this redefined era. The introduction of Women’s Football opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Seamlessly integrated into the FM ecosystem, this debut is supported by the most comprehensive database of its kind and numerous licensed competitions set to be unveiled in the coming weeks. A redesigned user interface gives players more control over the crucial decisions in every career. Designed to be intuitive for everyone, from series newcomers to FM veterans, FM26’s User Interface underpins further enhancements across tactics, scouting and recruitment. Also launching on day one is Football Manager 26 Console, bringing the new era of football management to Xbox and PlayStation 5 users. Both FM26 Console (Xbox) and FM26 (PC/Mac) will be available via Xbox Game Pass. Football Manager 26 Touch is set to make a comeback on Nintendo Switch for its eighth season, with a digital launch scheduled for December 4. Despite transitioning to an entirely new engine, technology that converts your saved games to the new format ensures that FM26, FM26 Console and FM26 Touch will all debut with save game compatibility for Football Manager 2024 and Football Manager 2023. Football Manager 26 Mobile is also due to launch on November 4 as a Netflix exclusive. Merging a vintage vibe with unique new features, FM26 Mobile remains the sole title in the suite not making the switch to Unity at this point. Moreover, FM26 Mobile will be the first edition in our Mobile series to feature save game compatibility functionality*. Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson expressed: “I’m honoured and delighted to be revealing Football Manager 26’s release date today. “Setting Sports Interactive up for the next 20 years and beyond was an enormous undertaking but I couldn’t be prouder of the efforts of the whole team over the past 2 years. “FM26 represents a landmark release in our quest to produce football management perfection and the whole studio is really excited to share it with the world.” More details regarding FM26’s availability on other platforms will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks. Pre-purchases for FM26 are available until November 4, with SEGA-approved digital retailers** offering a 10% discount on the retail price of £49.99/€59.99/$59.99. PC and Mac users who pre-purchase can get a head start on their managerial career with Advanced Access to FM26. This early access will be available on Steam and Epic roughly two weeks before the official release date, allowing single-player careers started during this period to continue when the game updates for its launch on 4 November.
