Mayonnaise enthusiasts across the UK have reason to celebrate, as Heinz has hinted its popular Halloween-themed special sauce will return to shop shelves.

Last year Heinz and Walkers joined forces to launch ‘Scarily Good’ sauce Monster Munch Mayo, a tangy sauce that blended Pickled Onion flavour of Monster Munch with the creamy, rich texture of Heinz Mayo.

The limited run of 1,000 bottles were sold exclusively through the Heinz to Home website, before the product hit retailers in the UK throughout September and October.

In a recent teaser shared on Instagram, Heinz posted a cryptic advert featuring a silhouetted bottle of mayonnaise, accompanied by the word ‘pending’, sparking excitement among fans.

The short video included the message: ‘We love summer but…we have an itch!’, which suggested a seasonal shift is in the works.

The caption further fuelled speculation. It said: ‘Spooky SZN pending… and a highly awaited return?’

While no official release date has been confirmed, the post has already stirred considerable buzz among fans eager for the seasonal favourite to make its comeback.

One person said: ‘Pickled onion monster munch mayo is back!’

Another added: ‘YES!!!! Pickled Onion Monster Mayo.’

Meanwhile a further mayo fan wrote: ‘Monster Munch Pickled Onion Salad Cream Spooky come back we went mad over it we bought like 6 or more each time we went to shop and stocked up.’

A fourth said: ‘Please, please, pleeeeease let it be Pickled Onion Monster Munch Mayo!!!’

Last year, Thiago Rapp, Director of Taste Elevation at Kraft Heinz, shared his excitement about the collaboration: ‘We’re thrilled to be partnering with Walkers to bring Heinz [Scarily] Good Monster Munch Mayo to life.

‘With Halloween just around the corner, we wanted to create something truly special.’

He added: ‘Following on from the success of Heinz Black Garlic Mayo last Halloween, we were blown away by the excitement people felt around these limited-edition products for spooky season.

‘Monster Munch, with the iconic claw, was the perfect partner for mayo this Halloween, providing a scarily good twist on the classic.’

Wayne Newton, Walkers Senior Marketing Director added: ‘Teaming up with Heinz this Halloween to launch the [Scarily] Good Monster Munch Mayo is an extremely exciting time for us.

Heinz and Walkers previously launched [Scarily] Good Monster Munch Mayo, a tangy new sauce that blends the iconic Pickled Onion flavour of Monster Munch with the creamy, rich texture of Mayo

‘With our own ‘Scarily Giant’ campaign running for the first-time last year, we’re no strangers to Halloween.

‘This year we’ve taken it a step or claw further by partnering with Heinz to create the ultimate spooky sauce.’

It comes after Heinz and Walkers also teamed up to launch three new flavours of crisps, all inspired by classic sauces often used in sandwiches.

The limited-edition snacks will equally feature flavours derived from typically British sandwich fillings – and all three varieties have already proven to be a hit among crisp fans who are itching to get their hands on them.

Foodies will be able to try the new range as all three flavours are now available at 12 major retailers across the nation.

The first of the dynamic new Walkers flavours is the Sausage Sarnie, which is combined with Heinz Tomato Ketchup for a fresh take on the meaty breakfast sandwich.

Another new addition is the Cheese Toastie, combined with a classic Heinz Beanz flavour as a unique concept of the gooey, savoury breakfast dish.
