Lake County, Florida Commission approves road naming honoring Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025, making it the first local government to name a road after Kirk as Melbourne considers similar action
Lake County, Florida has installed highway signs designating the Charlie Kirk Memorial Highway. How dare you!” Sabatini erupted. “Disgusting. You’re a disgusting person!”Some speakers supported the road naming proposal during the public hearing.Melbourne considers Charlie Kirk lane designationFlorida’s City of Melbourne is considering renaming part of Cypress Avenue as Charlie Kirk Lane. The proposed section includes the location of Lamb & Co. Fishmongers.Business owner Kaili Lamb faced backlash after posting a social media message celebrating Kirk’s assassination. Lamb initially wrote “Sorry, not sorry what a (expletive) douche” but later apologized and deleted the post, calling it a “terrible mistake.”Lamb told Florida Today she received threatening messages and phone calls following her post.
