New College of Florida has announced it will commission a statue of conservative activist Charlie Kirk to be placed on its campus.
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot last week during an event at Utah Valley University.
The statue, which will be privately funded by community leaders, aims to honor Kirk’s legacy and symbolize the college’s commitment to free speech and civil discourse.
New College of Florida shared a mock-up of a bronze-like statue of Kirk at a table with a microphone, a nod to the debates he would have on college campuses.
Utah officials have formally charged 22-year-old Tyler Robinson with aggravated murder and other offenses in connection with Kirk’s killing, with Robinson facing a potential death penalty.
