Flights both to and from Aberdeen Airport have been cancelled or delayed due to “heavy fog”. All commercial planes leaving the north east travel hub have been grounded since 10.20am. Whilst only one flight has landed in Aberdeen since 9.40am, with an easyJet plane from London Gatwick landing at 1.55pm. It is understood Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservatives, was due to land in the north east earlier on Wednesday, however the flight was diverted. Aberdeen Airport says the disruption is being caused by adverse weather conditions causing low visibility. Those due to travel either to or from the airport have been urged to check the live status of their flight. A spokesperson for Aberdeen International Airport, said: “There is currently some disruption to services due to heavy fog which has resulted in some delays and cancellations. “Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight with their airline.” The decision to delay or cancel a flight is made by the airline, not the affected airport.
