The Vanuatu Football Federation (VFF) has officially confirmed five teams for the third edition of the VFF Women’s Champions League, set to take place in Port Vila from October 7 to 18, 2025.
The tournament will bring together the top women’s clubs from around the country, each representing their respective football associations: Rick FC – representing Torba Football Association (FA), Veoa FC – representing Sanma FA, Tokwasmera FC – representing Tafea FA, Penama Tigers FC – defending champions, representing Shefa FA and Tafea FC representing PVFA.
The competition will be played in a round-robin format, with all teams facing each other in the group stage. The club with the highest points at the end of the tournament will be crowned the 2025 VFF Women’s Champions League winner.
Ticket prices have also been announced, with under-12 children allowed free entry.
Spectators can purchase grandstand tickets for VT 500, East and West Wing tickets for VT 300, and open-air tickets for VT 200.
Penama Tigers FC enter this year’s edition as reigning champions. In the previous tournament, they clinched the title in dominant fashion with a 6-1 victory over Londua FC, the champions from Penama FA, securing a cash prize of VT 500,000.
Shefa FA President says the Tigers are determined to win another football edition with the hope of securing another spot in the OFC champions league despite not being able to get to Tahiti in the last OFC edition due to Visa issues.
He asks for more participation of women in the sport especially around Shefa in order to create and revive women’s leagues around the province and develop the sport of football.
The VFF Women’s Champions League continues to be a key platform for showcasing the growing talent and competitiveness in women’s football across Vanuatu.
