Two days after the Government of India elevated five officers of the State Civil Service to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Tamil Nadu government on Friday posted them in cadre posts. The Department of Personnel and Training had on October 29 appointed S. Kavitha, C. Muthukumaran, P.S. Leela Alex, M. Veerappan and R. Revathi to the Indian Administrative Service for the Select List of 2023 on probation and allocated them to the Tamil Nadu cadre. In a G.O. issued on Friday, the Tamil Nadu government posted C. Muthukumaran as the Director (Disaster Management) of Tamil Nadu Disaster Risk Reduction Agency. He was serving as its Joint Director so far. While S. Kavitha is set to assume office as Joint Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Milk Cooperative Producers Federation Limited, Ms. Alex has been named as Member Secretary of the Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust and is also set to assume office as the Managing Director of Chennai River Transformation Company Ltd. Mr. Veerappan has been named as Additional Registrar in the office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies and Ms. Revathi has been posted as the Deputy Secretary in the Higher Education Department. The government also posted R. Kannan as the Secretary of the State Human Rights Commission. Mr. Kannan is also set to assume office as the Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency. S.P. Amrith was named as the Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.
