Five Injured in Overnight Spate of Violence in Stockton, Police Make Multiple Arrests

Stockton experienced a sharp uptick in violence with five people injured in separate shootings and stabbings that took place overnight on Friday, according to reports from local authorities. ABC10 reported that three victims suffered stab wounds, while two were injured by gunfire in incidents scattered across the city, with police confirming multiple arrests related to the stabbing occurrences.

Both victims of the gunfire incidents, men aged 38 and 26 respectively, received hospital treatment for their injuries and are expected to recover fully. The 38-year-old found himself caught in a gunfight that erupted in a business parking lot on West Lane, police described the suspects as men of unknown races, ABC10 relayed. In a separate event, the 26-year-old was shot at while driving near East Fremont Street, with no suspect information made available at this time.

The incidents involving blades were dispersed across the city as well, with the Lakeview District seeing two people stabbed in unrelated events. According to FOX40, a 36-year-old was assaulted and subsequently hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. The assailant, apprehended by the SPD, is facing charges for assault with a deadly weapon in battery. However, the attacker of the 38-year-old victim remains at large.

In the Bear Creek District, a 19-year-old man became another tally to the night’s blade assaults, when a 21-year-old woman reportedly attacked him. The woman was placed under arrest on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, and vandalism. “Officers said the victim was visiting a residence when the incident occurred,” FOX40 reported, and he was later treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old gunshot victim from West Lane was one of several targets, as a business and multiple vehicles were also hit during the shooting spree, with the suspects still not in custody.

Stockton Police Department urges anyone with information regarding either of the shooting incidents to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Stockton Crime Stoppers by calling (209)946-0600, and in some cases might lead to a reward for details that contribute to an arrest, as per ABC10.
