First look at Birmingham's new role play town with a 'road kids can drive along'

There's a new role play village and cafe in town and families are very excited. Flamingoo Soft Play has opened on Erdington High Street and has a police station, shops, kitchen, health clinic, kitchen, fire station and park centred around a twisting road that children can drive mini cars and bikes along. Described as a 'Mini City Adventure', the centre also has sensory and creative zones, ball pits, slides and chutes. "After visiting many soft plays, we felt something was always missing: warmth, atmosphere, and a true family-friendly space. "Flamingoo started as a shared dream between me and my husband. After countless conversations, we knew Erdington needed a space where children could feel special and families could feel at home. "The journey wasn’t easy — it took months of planning, designing, and building. But every detail was created with love, care, and determination so that families would feel the difference from the moment they stepped inside. For us, Flamingoo is more than a soft play. It’s a place where childhood memories are made, parents and children connect and imagination takes the lead. "Because we believe childhood is too short to not play at Flamingoo." Parents have responded on social media, saying 'wow!' and 'fantastic'. Designed for kids aged 0 to 10, there's lots to do. The soft play section includes spiral slides, a giant ball pit, tunnels, bridges, and climbing frames over two colourful levels. Listen to our latest episode on the Brummie Mummies Podcast In the mini town, kids can become a policeman, doctor or fireman and visit the themed playhouses and shops. And the toddler zone has mini slides and soft climbing frames, a ball pit, foam blocks and activity walls as well as safe, cushioned flooring. There's also a cafe where parents and grandparents relax and tuck into healthy snacks, light bites, sweet treats, cakes and pastries whilst their children play. There's also a children's menu for when they've finished playing. And there's a party room too. Find out more via the Flamingoo Facebook page.
