Christian pilgrims celebrate Senator Tinubu in Jordan ahead 65th birthday
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reiterated her aversion to provocation and the aggression of war.
She called for greater understanding among nations to avoid armed conflicts.
Mrs. Tinubu said this when she hosted the Qatari Ambassador to Nigeria, Ali bin Ghanem Al-Hajri, at her office in Abuja yesterday.
Reacting to the recent attack in Doha, the Qatari capital, the First Lady described peace as a divine principle shared across major religions and central to humanity’s survival.
“I pray for a world filled with peace, standing firm against the provocations of war,” she said.
Mrs. Tinubu noted that only through mutual respect and dialogue could nations avert crises and promote stability.
The meeting, held mainly behind closed doors, explored fresh areas of collaboration between her flagship humanitarian platform, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), and the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
The discussions focused on improving the Almajiri system of education and tackling the challenge of out-of-school children in Nigeria.
Al-Hajri expressed gratitude to the First Lady and Nigerians for their solidarity during Qatar’s difficult moment.
The envoy affirmed that Nigeria remains “dear to the State of Qatar”.
He restated Qatar’s commitment to deepening ties with Nigeria in humanitarian and developmental spheres.

Also, over 300 Nigerian Christian pilgrims yesterday celebrated the First Lady in Amman, the capital of the Kingdom of Jordan, ahead of her 65th birthday on Sunday, September 21.
The pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Taraba, Benue, Edo, and Ondo states also presented a birthday cake in honour of Mrs. Tinubu.
They offered prayers on behalf of the First Lady, her husband, President Bola Tinubu, and other leaders at various levels of government.
The Spiritual Leader of the delegation, Bishop Raphael Nwankwo, explained that the decision to celebrate the First Lady in the holy land was necessitated by the need to uphold Nigeria and her leadership in prayers.
He noted that as the wife of the President, Mrs. Tinubu plays a vital role in the governance of Nigeria and deserves to be celebrated and supported.
Nwankwo, who urged fellow Nigerians to pray and support the present administration in Nigeria, stressed that nation-building is a collective responsibility of all Nigerians and not just for those in authority.
Besides a brief sermon, the former Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dr. Samson Jonah, prayed for the celebrant and the nation.
The Director of FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Gloria Dandam, who gave the toast for the celebrant, prayed to God to empower Mrs. Tinubu to help the President transform the country.
