Michel-Ange Balikwisha seemed to take a swipe at Brendan Rodgers through a mysterious Instagram post just hours following his departure. The gaffer walked away shortly before 10pm on Monday, causing chaos at Parkhead, with tensions escalating further after a damning Dermot Desmond statement that labelled the outgoing boss 'divisive' and claimed he had created a 'toxic' environment. At the same time Rodgers' departure was confirmed, Martin O'Neill and Shaun Maloney were given temporary control and face a significant challenge to restore stability following their loss to Hearts that left them eight points behind in the title race. Among the players they'll be eager to inspire is £4.5m summer acquisition Balikwisha, one of the new arrivals Rodgers failed to get the best from prior to his shocking exit. The Belgian has yet to find the net for the Hoops and hasn't featured from the start since September, reports the Daily Record . That could well explain the post that surfaced on his Instagram late on Monday evening, which has now been removed. The story featured an image of him kneeling whilst celebrating one of their recent home strikes. Whilst the prayer and pointing emojis in the caption don't reveal much, closer examination shows the post also includes a nod to the Biblical verse Romans 12:19. That passage is famously known for the words: "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath." Perhaps not quite so cryptic after all!
