Gentex Merchants Pvt Ltd, a company linked with Lakshmi Mittal, has bought a 3,540 square yard bungalow on APJ Abdul Kalam Road in the Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone of Delhi for Rs 310 crore.The bungalow was earlier owned by Yashwant Singh, a member of the royal family of Alwar, Rajasthan. Singh recently bought an 867 square metre bungalow in Golf Links for Rs 100 crore.As per the sale deed accessed by ET, Gentex Merchants paid Rs 21.7 crore stamp duty for the transaction, which was registered in June.The firm did not respond to ET’s email query until press time Wednesday.Located in the heart of India’s power corridor, the Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone (LBZ) spans 28 sq km and houses around 3,000 bungalows, primarily occupied by ministers, judges and senior government officials.Live EventsRoughly 600 properties in the area are privately owned by some of India’s wealthiest individuals.
