Firing underway between security personnel and Maoists in Sukma of Chhattisgarh

Sukma: Based on information about the presence of Maoists in the forested hills of the western region of Sukma district, security forces launched a search operation.

During this operation, intermittent firing has been going on between the security forces and the Maoists since this morning, informed the Sukma Police on the firing between maoist and security.

Two Naxals were killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur on Wednesday. Based on information about the presence of Naxals in the south-western region of Bijapur district, security forces launched a search operation. Along with the bodies, arms, and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter site.

Earlier on Wednesday, two women Naxalites were killed in an encounter with police in Gadchiroli district.

Police said that the information was received that a few members of Gatta LOS are camping in the forest adjoining Modaske Village under Police Station Gatta Jambhiya in Etapalli Taluka.

In a X post recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that, Naxalism has been completely eradicated from the Bokaro region, that is in Northern Jharkhand.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote, “Naxalism has been completely eradicated from the Bokaro region in northern Jharkhand. Soon, the entire country will be free from the problem of Naxalism.”

He further added, “Today, in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, a joint team of the CRPF’s Cobra Battalion and the state police has achieved a major success in an anti-Naxal operation. In this operation, Naxal commander with a Rs 1 crore bounty, CCM Sahdev Soren alias Parvesh, has been eliminated.”

“Additionally, two other bounty Naxals—Raghunath Hembram alias Chanchal and Birsen Ganjhu alias Ramkhelawan—have also been gunned down by the security forces,” he clearly informed.
