A few teenagers in north Alabama had to be rescued by the town’s fire department on Friday night, after a daring adventure went awry. “Sometimes teenagers don’t make the wisest decisions,” the Florence Fire-Rescue Department said in a Facebook post. “Glad we could help out and glad they are safe!” During Florence’s “First Fridays” event, the teenagers climbed onto the roof of a downtown business, according to a Facebook post from the city’s police department. But while they were able to get up, the teens weren’t able to find their way back down, leading to a call to the fire department. “Everyone made it down safely, no injuries, just a good story and probably a lesson learned,” the police department said. The Florence fire department and police department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from AL.com. First Fridays is a monthly festival in Florence, showcasing the art community in town. At last night’s event, the University of North Alabama Marching Pride performed for festivalgoers in downtown Florence. The band will be traveling to New York City in a few weeks to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The police department cautioned residents to enjoy the city’s downtown from ground level. “Please, leave the climbing to Spider-Man,” the police department said. “Downtown is plenty fun from ground level, and we’d like to keep it that way.”
