Financial literacy programme for artisans and representatives of MSMEs held

Over 90 artisans and representatives of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) participated in a financial literacy awareness programme recently in Puducherry. Organised jointly by Pondicherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation (PIPDIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), the awareness programme was part of the implementation of World Bank assisted Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme in the Union Territory, an official release said. Secretary to Government of Puducherry (Industries and Commerce) Vikranth Raja in his address said the RAMP was aimed to strengthen the MSME ecosystem by improving credit, technology, market linkages, and capacity building. He underlined the importance of collective efforts among artisans to enhance competitiveness and promote long-term industrial development in the region, the release said. Associate professor, EDII, Ananthavalli Ramesh, Assistant Professor, EDII, Samit Kumar, General Manager, District Industries Centre, K. Govindarajan and Functional Manager, DIC, G. Jayaraman were among those who spoke at the programme.
