Final Injury Report for Thunder-Mavericks, Will Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren Play?

The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the road on Monday night as they travel to face off against the Dallas Mavericks in a Western Conference showdown. Oklahoma City has started the season 3-0 and they are coming off a road victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. In Saturday’s victory, Chet Holmgren led the way for the Thunder as he recorded 31 points and 11 rebounds while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 30 points, five rebounds and five assists of his own. Now the Thunder will try to grab their fourth victory of the season on the road against a tough Mavericks team on Monday night. On the other side, the Mavericks enter Monday’s contest coming off their first victory of the season on Sunday over the Toronto Raptors. Anthony Davis led the way in Sunday’s victory as he ended the game with 25 points and 10 rebounds while Cooper Flagg recorded 22 points, four rebounds and four assists. While both teams are looking for a key victory early in the season in Monday’s matchup, both may be without some of their key players due to injuries. Thunder Injury Report, Will Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams Play? For the Thunder, they have eight players listed on their injury report for Monday’s game, including two of their stars in Holmgren and Jalen Williams. Holmgren is listed as questionable for Monday’s contest due to back soreness, though he was able to play through his injury on Saturday against Atlanta. If Holmgren is sidelined, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams could both have an increased role for Oklahoma City. For Williams, he has been ruled out for Monday’s game due to recovery from wrist surgery as their star forward has yet to make his season debut. Oklahoma City has also ruled out Alex Caruso, Isaiah Joe, Kenrich Williams, Nikola Topic and Thomas Sorber for Monday’s game as they will need players to continue to step up with their roster beat up to begin the season. Mavericks Injury Report, will Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively II Play? On the other side, the Mavericks have five players listed on their injury report for Monday’s matchup as they have listed Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II as doubtful, Brandon Williams and Dante Exum as questionable and Kyrie Irving as out. For Gafford, he has been listed as doubtful due to an ankle injury that has sidelined him for the first three games of the season and it appears as though he will miss his fourth consecutive game on Monday. Dereck Lively II is also listed as doubtful for Monday’s game due to a right knee contusion as he is not expected to play, leaving Dallas’ frontcourt thin against the Thunder. Dallas has also listed Williams as questionable due to personal reasons and Exum is questionable due to a knee injury.
