The Denver Nuggets are on the road on Friday night as they travel to take on the Portland Trail Blazers to begin NBA Cup group play. Denver enters Friday’s game with a 3-1 record after picking up a dominating victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. In Wednesday’s victory over the Pelicans, Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets as he recorded a triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists while Christian Braun ended the game with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists. Now Denver will try to grab their fourth victory of the season on Friday night against Portland as they look to begin NBA Cup group play with a key win. On the other side, the Trail Blazers enter Friday’s contest with a 3-2 record after defeating the Utah Jazz on the road on Wednesday night. Jrue Holiday led the way for Portland in Wednesday’s victory as he recorded 27 points, five rebounds and eight assists while Deni Avdija added 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists of his own. While both teams are looking for their fourth victory of the season in Friday’s matchup, both squads may be without some of their key players due to injuries. Nuggets Injury Report, Will Jamal Murray, Cameron Johnson Play? For the Nuggets, they have two players listed on their injury report for Friday’s game against the Trail Blazers. Denver has listed Jamal Murray as questionable due to left calf tightness and if he is sidelined, it would be a massive blow to the Nuggets as Murray has had a great start to the season. If Murray is sidelined in Friday’s game, Bruce Borwn and Jalen Pickett could be in line for larger roles. The Nuggets have also listed Cameron Johnson as probable for Friday’s game due to right shoulder inflammation, though he is expected to play after he was able to play through the injury in Wednesday’s victory. Trail Blazers Injury Report, Will Shaedon Sharpe Play? On the other side, the Trail Blazers have six players listed on their injury report for Friday’s matchup, including young guard Shaedon Sharpe. Porltand has listed Sharpe as probable due to a calf injury but he is expected to play barring a setback before tipoff. The Trail Blazers have also listed Kris Murray as questionable with an illness while Robert Williams III is questionable after rehabbing a knee injury in the G League and could make his season debut on Friday.
