Feyenoord have been dealt an injury blow ahead of facing Aston Villa. Unai Emery’s side face Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday night. They will be aiming to build on their 1-0 victory over Bologna in their opening Europa League tie at Villa Park last week when they travel to De Kuip. Feyenoord have confirmed one of their players, Malcolm Jeng, will miss the tie after undergoing surgery on a leg injury. A club statement read: “Malcolm Jeng sustained an injury to his lower right leg during Sunday afternoon’s league match against FC Groningen. “The 20-year-old central defender underwent immediate and successful surgery last night at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. “The Swedish center-back, who is on loan from French side Stade de Reims this season, sustained the injury just before halftime and had to be substituted immediately. “The club will announce more information about Jeng’s condition as soon as it becomes available. “Everyone at the club wishes Malcolm all the best and strength in his recovery.” Will Villa beat Feyenoord?
