Fever-pitch anticipation: 120,000 to attend Comic-Con

The countdown is on for Comic-Con Malaga is building fevered anticipation, as it set to take place from September 25 to 28 at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga, and expecting to draw 120,000 attendees.

Possibly the region’s biggest, most star-studded event of the year brings former California Governor and Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger as the guest of honour.

Schwarzenegger, famed for his blockbuster hits like Terminator, Predator, and Total Recall, will close the convention on Sunday, September 28, with an exclusive 11-hour morning masterclass titled “Total Recall.” Held in the specially adapted Hall M, which seats 3,000, the already sold-out session will feature Schwarzenegger sharing anecdotes from his storied career and insights into his rise as a central figure in American entertainment despite his European roots.

The same day, at 6pm, acclaimed Spanish filmmaker J.A. Bayona, known for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Society of the Snow, will host an open talk with attendees. Other guests of note include comic book legends Jeph Loeb, the award-winning writer behind Superman for All Seasons and Batman: The Long Halloween, and Jim Lee, current president of DC Comics and celebrated for his work on X-Men. Both will will be doing meet-and-greets with fans on the Sunday.

The convention will also showcase exclusive content from popular series, including a presentation of the new season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon on Saturday, September 27, featuring stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride.

With a packed schedule of talks, activities, and celebrity appearances, Comic-Con Malaga is shaping up to be a the main event for pop culture enthusiasts just about anywhere in the world.
