A painting by 14-year-old Vygha V.K. will grace the Children’s Day stamp for 2025-26. The class IX student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Feroke, Kozhikode, was judged the best painting on the theme ‘Sanatha Balyam, Samrakshitha Balyam’ as part of a State-level contest for students from lower primary to higher secondary. Artist Nemom Pushparaj adjudged the 296 paintings that made it to the final round. The stamp is printed by the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare with government permission every year to fund its activities. Vygha is the elder daughter of artist Aneesh V.K. and Kozhikode taluk library council employee Shibi K.P. The Children’s Day stamp will be released at a public meeting held at Nishagandhi auditorium in the Kanakakkunnu Palace compound after the Children’s Day rally on November 14. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Minister for Women and Child Development Veena George, and Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty will be present on the occasion.
