The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Wednesday announced special facilitation measures for individuals who previously filed their income tax returns manually, as part of its broader initiative to digitize tax operations across Pakistan. In a statement, the FBR said that manual filing of income tax returns had been discontinued from Tax Year 2024 to ensure a complete transition to the online system. However, recognizing that some taxpayers may face difficulties adapting to the digital platform, the board has decided to extend support to such individuals. Distributors & retailers: Business integration with FBR system made mandatory The FBR said that a dedicated facilitation cell will be established in each tax office to provide legal and technical assistance to taxpayers shifting from manual to online filing.
