Esha Deol is Dharmendra’s daughter from his second marriage with Hema Malini. She also has a sister named Ahana Deol. Prior to Bollywood’s Dream Girl, Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur with whom he has two sons – Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur in 1954 when he was reportedly just 19 years old. It is claimed that Dharmendra married Hema without giving Prakash a divorce. But when Esha Deol decided to part ways from Bharat Takhtani in 2024, Dharmendra wasn’t happy. Reportedly, the veteran actor was initially not in support of her decision and wanted her to re-think about it. Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani got married in 2012 but announced their separation in 2024 i.e. after 11 years of being together. Even though the two did not reveal the reason of their separation, they issued a joint statement confirming it was decided “mutually and amicably”. Soon after their separation, a report claimed that Dharmendra was ‘sad’ because of the separation and wanted Esha and Bharat to rethink their decision. “No parents can be happy seeing their children’s family being broken. Even Dharmendra ji is a father and one can understand his pain. It’s not that he is against his daughter’s decision to get separated but what’s her to rethink over it,” a source cited by Bollywood Life had claimed. The insider had also stated that, although the veteran actor was not against his daughter’s decision, he strongly believed that separation affects children. “Separation affects the kids badly and hence Dharamji feels if the marriage can be saved they should,” the source added. While Esha and Bharat have separated, they continue to share a cordial relationship. In September this year, Esha talked about her equation with Bharat when it comes to coparenting their children. She mentioned that when two people decide to separate, they must maturely understand the situation and focus on their children’s well-being. Recently, Esha and Bharat also stepped out to enjoy some good food with their friends on a Sunday. A photo of the two had also surfaced on social media. Later, Bharat also sent birthday wishes to Esha’s mother, Hema Malini and called her “mamma”. However, Bharat seems to have found love again. He recently took to his Instagram handle and dropped a romantic photo with a mystery woman named Meghna Lakhani. In the photo, Bharat was seen holding Meghna close as they looked lost in each other’s eyes. In the caption, Esha Deol’s ex-husband wrote, “Welcome to the family, it’s official”.
