Justin Trudeau’s Halloween shark costume is a tongue-in-cheek nod to his new girlfriend, Katy Perry, fans on social media speculated. The former Canadian Prime Minister took to social media on Friday to show off his blue shark costume opposite his youngest son, Hadrian, 11, as a wounded surfer. “Ready for Halloween with Hadrien: he’s the surfer, I’m the shark (to his left),” Trudeau, 53, captioned the Instagram upload. “We built the costume together — a little father-son Halloween teamwork. 🎃🦈🏄♂️,” he added. Fans immediately noticed the resemblance between Trudeau’s inflatable shark and “Left Shark,” Perry’s backup dancer who went viral during her Super Bowl 49 halftime performance in 2015. At the time, Perry’s dancer became an internet sensation after he made up his own dance moves on the fly during her performance of “Teenage Dream.” “TO HIS LEFT 👏👏👏,” one follower quipped, while another wrote, “I’ll dress up as Katy Perry and then you and I can pretend to be together!” Another chimed in, “Babe we all recognize that shark costume,” while a fourth queried, “Did you borrow the Left Shark costume?” Perry, 41, and the politician first sparked romance rumors when they were photographed in July chatting and walking near Mount Royal Park in Montreal and later having a romantic dinner at Le Violon restaurant in the Canadian city. Trudeau was subsequently seen taking in the show at Perry’s “Lifetimes” tour stop at Montreal’s Bell Centre. Rumors of a connection intensified after photos of Perry and Trudeau making out on her yacht emerged in October, with Perry rocking a swimsuit and Trudeau going shirtless for the steamy moment. The pair finally went public with their romance on the “Firework” hitmaker’s 41st birthday last week, holding hands while arriving for a cabaret show at the Crazy Horse in Paris. Perry turned heads in a red dress for the occasion, while Trudeau opted for a monochrome black suit ensemble. Sources told Page Six last month that the former Prime Minister is head-over-heels for the “Roar” singer. “He is crazy about her and thinks she is the perfect woman,” an insider told Page Six. “They are simpatico on everything, including politics, kids and French food.” The source added, “They both have a sparkle for each other.” Perry shares daughter Daisy Dove, 5, with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom; while Trudeau is dad to kids Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrian with his estranged wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.
