India are all set to take on Australia in the second T20I of the five-match series at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, October 31. This will be an important match as it will mark the definite start to the series after the first match at Canberra was washed out due to rain. As the two teams took the field in Melbourne, the thing to notice was that both had black armbands. This was a heartfelt tribute to the memory of a young cricketer who recently breathed his last. India and Australia players wore black armbands to honour Ben Austin, a 17-year-old Australian cricketer who died in a freak accident during practice when a ball hit on his neck. Austin was practicing at th Ferntree Gully Cricket Club ahead of a T20 match. A ball was delivered using a siderm device, referred to as the wagner, and that his neck, even though he was wearing a helmet. The helmet did not have a stem guard and hence it left the area exposed. In the Women's World Cup semi-final which was played on October 30 (Thursday), both India and Australia players wore black armbands in remembrance for Ben Austin as well.
