Experts Debate Greatest James Bond Movie

Experts Debate Greatest James Bond Movie

What is the greatest movie of all time? The greatest album? Comic book? Video game? These are not questions to take lightly. To alleviate your mental stress, or abbreviate those endless discussions, ScreenRant is answering them for our readers.
In August, the site launched Challenge My GOAT, a weekly article series identifying lighting-rod topics from across the entire media spectrum, and enlisting writers to champion a title, or talent, that they think earns the superlative of “Greatest of All Time.” Tom Bacon picked the best sci-fi television series of all time. Craig Elvy wrote about the greatest blockbuster. And Alex Harrison went to bat for the greatest director of all time. We will continue to release one article per week, many written by ScreenRant staff members, but in other cases, penned by high-profile experts, entertainment writers, or diehard fans.
This week, ScreenRant debuts not one but two episodes of its GOAT podcast, each recorded in conjunction with a specific article. Even better, we test the tensile strength of our writers’ argumentative powers not just with a victory lap but a full-fledged debate between the author and a challenger, someone equally knowledgeable — and passionate — about the same topic, but with an alternate pick.
This week’s episode pits Movies and Music Deputy Editor Todd Gilchrist, writer of ScreenRant’s Greatest James Bond Movie Of All Time article, against Executive Editor Alex Leadbeater. The two of them duke it out over Gilchrist’s pick, the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service starring George Lazenby.
The second episode puts venerated entertainment writer Anthony Breznican in the hot seat as he defends First Blood as the Greatest Action Movie Of All Time.
Click the link on both to listen to the spirited discussions around both topics, which are moderated by ScreenRant host Liam Crowley. Also, make sure you subscribe to receive updates whenever a new episode debuts! We also encourage you to check out all of our Challenge My GOAT stories, and then head to the comments to support our expert’s pick, or present the case for your own. We may even read your comments on an upcoming episode during one of our discussions, so make them persuasive — or at least so wild we can’t ignore highlighting them.
Let the discussion begin!
