Viral online sensation Maraji Johnson, better known as Death Sentence, recently competed in Fight Circus against Charles ‘Krazy Horse’ Bennett. The result of the fight has not been made public yet, but it seems like these gimmick fights aren’t what he’s looking for. The 22-year-old, who is a protégé of UFC flyweight GOAT Demetrious Johnson, appears to be planning to follow in his mentor’s footsteps after what he had to say during an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports. Maraji Johnson isn’t your regular MMA fighter because he does not really have a background in combat training. But he’s got a passion for fighting, and much like any combat athlete, aspires to make his way to the top of the ranks. His latest goal? Take revenge on Alexandre Pantoja in the biggest MMA promotion in the world. He may have fought at Fight Circus, but his plans are to make it to the UFC, and he’s pretty confident that his dream will come true. “I always wanted to be an MMA fighter, like, always. So, I think two months before I joined StreetBeefs, I was talking to my brother, and I told my brother if I was in the UFC, which I will be one day, “I would call myself ‘Death Sentence’ because fighting me is a death sentence,” Johnson told Andrew Whitelaw during the exclusive interview with EssentiallySports. Moreover, Demetrious Johnson‘s protégé has revealed that he has no plans to fight under his legal name. “I am a Super Sayian warrior.. I want to have a real fight,” he stated. Death Sentence sports a costume from the famous anime Dragon Ball. And his headband likely refers to Naruto Shippuden. After demolishing Kai Asakura on the latter’s debut at UFC 310 and showing the former Rizin star that there are levels to this game, Alexandre Pantoja turned his attention to Demetrious Johnson. ‘The Cannibal’ demanded that he come out of retirement to fight him to show who’s the real GOAT 125er. ‘Mighty Mouse’ made it crystal clear that he has no motivation to fight in MMA anymore, and let that slide. However, Death Sentence seems to have been triggered by Alexandre Pantoja’s audacity to call out Demetrious Johnson, and for that, he wants to make him pay. “[Alexandre] Pantoja [is my dream fight]. Pantoja, bro, he called out my n—-, ‘Mighty Mouse’. I’m going to make him die for that. He’s going down. Like, he’s dead permanently,” the viral sensation added. And his dreams of getting into the UFC may not come to fruition anytime soon, judging from Demetrious Johnson’s many crash-outs while attempting to train Death Sentence. One day, Johnson finally lashed out at his protégé, telling him the hard truth of becoming a fighter. “Shut the f— up! Shut up. The show is over, the clown show is over, do you want to get f—ing good or keep going on with this circus act? You tell me, because I don’t want to waste my f—ing time with this clown show s—t,” Demetrious Johnson said in a video posted a few months ago. “You guys don’t want to get f—— good and keep playing around, I’m very passionate about fighting, I’m very passionate about getting people better, but I’m not passionate about doing it to try and get clips and s—t.”
