Exclusive! Jemimah Rodrigues Dedicates Historic World Cup Win To 'Phenomenal' Fans: 'Every Single Game...'

Jemimah Rodrigues was full of emotion after India’s historic World Cup win at the DY Patil Stadium. India reached the finals twice before, in 2005 and 2017, but lost to Australia and England, respectively. The team, though, was determined not to let the dream go unfilled this time around and defeated South Africa in the summit clash to script history. Jemimah played a huge role in India's triumph. She scored a magnificent 127 not out to help India pull off a record 339 run chase in the semifinal against Australia to take India to the final. Speaking exclusively to Times Now, Jemimah said the World Cup win feels like a dream. “I don’t know, it’s not sunk in yet, you know? We visualized this so much as a team, and it still feels like — are we still visualizing, or has this really happened? I think it will take us a while to sink in,” she admitted with a smile. The DY Patil Stadium was painted blue as fans rallied behind the Indian women’s team, with support pouring in from every corner of the country. Jemimah was overwhelmed by the love for the women's team and dedicated the World Cup win to the fans. "Yeah. Navi Mumbai has been phenomenal. Every single game, every single time we come in, the energy is amazing and outstanding. And this trophy is dedicated to all of them — and the billions supporting us in India," she said. BCCI's Mega Reward For Team IndiaMeanwhile, the BCCI opened cash floodgates for the Women's team after the World Cup win, announcing a 51 crore reward for the players, coaches, and support staff.
