What makes this project architecturally special? What was once a fruit-packing facility built in 1922 is about to become a central gathering spot in downtown Healdsburg. Ninety percent of the building’s wall were removed. The historic trusses on the roof remain, as do other details. Soon the site will house the city’s farmers market and other civic events. The project succeeded in “saving and repurposing a historic building that epitomizes Healdsburg’s agrarian roots, and that will continue to help maintain Healdsburg’s historic downtown fabric.” The Foley Family Charitable Foundation contributed $7.5 million to the $10.4 million project.
