LOADINGERROR LOADING The Bulwark’s Tim Miller confronted former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a testy interview moment on Monday after she defended Joe Biden’s performance in the Oval Office. Jean-Pierre, who is promoting a new book on the Biden White House after leaving the Democratic Party back in June, recalled trying to lift up the former president’s policies and “legislative wins” before Miller chimed in. He couldn’t talk about them, he wasn’t campaigning that vigorously,” said Miller, an ex-Republican National Committee spokesperson. Jean-Pierre responded, “No, no, no. Wait, first of all, first of all, he did talk about them. Whether it broke through or not, he did, Tim. He did.” Miller — who, moments earlier, questioned the “absurd” suggestion that Biden had the “vigor” to continue to his fight against Trump and remain in office another four years — swiftly hit back. Let’s just be real. Like he didn’t do night events,” he said. “But Tim, that’s not true,” Jean-Pierre replied. “Tim, you’re conflating all of it.” “I’m not,” Miller responded. ’No, first you’re telling me he didn’t talk well about it, then you’re telling me he didn’t talk at all,” Jean-Pierre said. The interview arrived hours after “CBS Mornings” host Gayle King told Jean-Pierre it was “hard to understand” her claims in the book that she didn’t see Biden’s reported health decline on a flight to his disastrous debate with Trump. Jean-Pierre — in her interview with Miller — went on to claim that Biden spoke to Americans “a couple of times a week” and travelled to talk directly to them, as well, during an “incredibly partisan” time in the country’s political history.
