Ex-Prem hero scores SIX goals AGAIN for star-studded Sunday League team

Newcastle cult hero Papiss Cisse hit ANOTHER double hat-trick on a rollercoaster afternoon in non-league this weekend. The Senegalese striker has enjoyed a journeyman career since departing St James’ Park. The now 40-year-old has played in China, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates and made the shock decision to return to the UK this year to represent non-league side Wythenshawe F.C. Cisse lines up for the club’s veterans side alongside familiar names such as George Boyd, Emile Heskey , Stephen Ireland, Nedum Onuoha, Danny Drinkwater, Maynor Figueroa, Joleon Lescott and Oumar Niasse. But it’s Cisse’s goalscoring that has stolen the headlines over recent weeks. He netted six goals in a comprehensive 6-2 win against Collegiate Old Boys last month, with the forward repeating the trick in a stunning 11-0 victory against South Liverpool in his most recent outing. And while his latest double hat-trick is remarkable, Cisse could have added even more. He was also guilty of missing a penalty and then played the resultant corner straight out of play, albeit did allow himself a wry smile. Speaking about his goalscoring exploits, one fan said on Twitter : "Papiss cisse what is this performance?" Another added: "Streets will never forget Papiss Cisse." Cisse’s goalscoring touch was certainly on display during his time at Newcastle . After arriving at St James’ Park from German side Freiburg, he plundered an eye-watering 13 goals in just 14 appearances - one of which was a stunning, curling strike against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Speaking about the goal to Sky Sports recently , Cisse said: "This goal comes from nowhere. It's just imagination. Time running out. “When the ball is thrown to Shola [Ameobi] I think he's going to hold the ball and keep it but he just dropped it to me with his chest. I said, 'OK, I can't keep that ball' because I was dead. We ran too much. So I just shoot. Who is your Premier League cult hero? Share your suggestions in the comments below "Wow. It's the only thing that comes to my mind. Wow. I say, this goal is my passport. Everybody that comes to me, they want to speak to me about that goal. The game against Chelsea is going to follow me all my life." Cisse eventually made 131 appearances for Newcastle, scoring 44 goals as he struck up a brilliant partnership with compatriot Demba Ba. He eventually departed for Chinese side Shandong Luneng. He went on to play for Turkish trio Alanyaspor, Fenerbahce and Çaykur Rizespor ahead of a move to French outlet Amiens. Cisse did have a brief return to England after training with Macclesfield FC, albeit he did not earn a deal. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
