Former veteran policeman Leon Lindo yesterday appeared before Justice Simone Morris at the High Court in Demerara where he is to stand trial for conspiracy to commit murder.
Lindo is accused of conspiring with Lennox Wayne, called “Two Colours”, to murder city businessman Mohamed Faraad Khan.
He entered a plea of not guilty when the charge was read to him.
His trial is set to commence today. Lindo is being represented by attorney Dexter Todd, while the case for the State is being presented by prosecutor Padma Dubraj.
Khan, the proprietor of MFK Trading, was killed in 2014. His decapitated body was discovered at Cummings Lodge in September 2014, East Coast Demerara. Reports at the time indicated that one leg was missing from the knee down, while the foot of the other leg was severed. His head, stuffed in a plastic bag, was found nearby.
