Members of the Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom Elite Forum have donated writing materials worth millions of naira to pupils of Eghereka and Ewu Primary Schools in Ewu town, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, as part of their core objective of giving back to society.
The donation of writing materials, which took place on Friday, 26th September 2025, was attended by top members of the Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom Elite Forum.
Speaking during the event, the President of the Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom Elite Forum, Evang Ekagha Clement, along with the Secretary General, Hon Chief Paul Etaga, Board of Trustees member Prince Shell Oyibo, and Sir Patrick Akporode, emphasized that the initiative was aimed at the social development of Ewu Kingdom and society at large.
According to them, “This initiative reaffirms our commitment to addressing the needs of the indigenes of Ewu Kingdom and supporting the educational pursuits of deserving students and children of the Kingdom up to university level through merited scholarships.”
They added, “We intend to establish an education and skills trust fund to assist outstanding students in education and skill acquisition at any level they desire.”
The forum members encouraged the students to remain steadfast, diligent, and focused in their studies, stating that dedication to education will enhance their personal development and contribute to societal progress.
They further urged the teachers to educate the children with love and care, as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
They emphasized that the funds used to produce the over 5,000 writing materials for the pupils of both Eghereka and Ewu Primary Schools were entirely from voluntary contributions by members of the Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom Elite Forum, both in Nigeria and in the diaspora, and not from the government.
The forum members noted that their decision to donate to the schools was devoid of any political motives, intending solely to spread love to the indigenes of the Kingdom.
They promised that the initiative would be extended to other government schools in Ewu Kingdom by next week.
The teachers were also included in the donation, receiving three notebooks each from the schools visited, which brought immense happiness to them.
The Headmaster of Eghereka Primary School, Mr. Adaboke Emmanuel, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the executives of the Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom Elite Forum for the opportunity to visit and distribute writing materials to his school and offered prayers for the forum members.
Similarly, the Headmaster of Ewu Primary School, Mr. Adjekpewhu Thomas, thanked the members of the forum for their kind gesture and also prayed for God’s continual blessings, greater accomplishments in their philanthropic endeavors, and divine protection for the members.
A pupil from Eghereka Primary School, Master Oghenefejiro, who spoke on behalf of the pupils, thanked the members of the forum and prayed for their prosperity.
