Every single North Jersey town’s sports claim to fame, Part 1

Welcome to the definitive list of the greatest sports legacy of every New Jersey town — all 564 of them
Editor’s Note
This is the first in a five-part series.
North Jersey has one of the world’s busiest sports venues in MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford), a three-time Stanley Cup champion franchise in the Devils (Newark) and the coach who led his home-state Giants to a pair of Super Bowl titles in Bill Parcells (Hasbrouck Heights).
But did you know that this part of the state also gave New Jersey — and the world — a barrier-breaking tennis legend (East Orange), the author of one of baseball’s most controversial books (Rochelle Park) and arguably the most successful influencer in college sports history (Hillsdale)?
