Dr. Seuss’s Horton!
This new children’s animated series on Netflix is only a great option if you’re a parent of a toddler. Children under 7–8 years old will be the only audience members who will want to binge-watch this stimulating and colorful animated series. For everyone else, skip it.

Red Alert
Red Alert is a new historical drama miniseries on Paramount+ that portrays the tragic events that occurred in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. The miniseries will be released on the second anniversary of the attacks and is produced by Lawrence Bender, known for Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. If you’re up for the heavy subject matter, binge it.
True Haunting
Netflix will release this new documentary miniseries that highlights authentic paranormal tales through the lens of legendary horror director James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring). Combining real interviews with dramatized cutscenes, True Haunting’s five episodes should be one of the best new horror streaming options this week. Binge it.

The Lost Station Girls
This new Hulu true crime drama series follows a police officer’s hunt for a serial killer responsible for killing four young women in Southern France, which took over two decades. Based on real events, this Hulu series should be one of the best new crime thrillers released this week. It’s a French series, so if you don’t mind subtitles, binge it.
Is It Cake? Halloween
The 2022 Netflix baking competition series Is it Cake? releases its first-ever Halloween edition this week, hosted by Saturday Night Live cast member Mikey Day. Boots
Boots will likely be the most talked-about new drama series released on Netflix this week. Created by Andy Parker (Pantheon, Imposters), it tells the story of Cameron Cope, a bullied teen who joins the Marine Corps with his best friend. Part coming-of-age comedy and historical war drama, Boots should make waves this week. Binge it.
9-1-1
The season 9 premiere of 9-1-1 hits ABC and Hulu this week. Unless you’re a ride or die fan of the series, there’s no immediate need to dive into this action drama centered around first responders. If you’re a fan of procedurals and creator Ryan Murphy, odds are you’ll already be tuning in. If you’re not all that into network television, it’s safe to skip it.
9-1-1: Nashville
The 9-1-1 spinoff series 9-1-1: Nashville makes its debut this week on ABC and Hulu. It’s the second 9-1-1 expansion series and will introduce new characters played by Chris O’Donnell, LeAnn Rimes, and more. Grey’s Anatomy
The season 22 premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, the longest-running medical drama in American TV history, will be released this week on ABC and Hulu. Considering that the series ranked in the global Top 10 on Disney+ streaming charts this week, Grey’s Anatomy shows no signs of losing steam 20 years after making its premiere. Binge it.
Victoria Beckham
A new Netflix docuseries centered around fashion designer and singer Victoria Beckham will be released this week. Consisting of just 3 episodes, the docuseries features never-before-seen footage and brand-new interviews with the larger-than-life celebrity, which reveal a more vulnerable and candid side to the human behind the persona. Beckham fans should watch; otherwise, skip it.
The Resurrected
Netflix will release a new Taiwanese crime thriller series called The Resurrected this week. Two desperate mothers resurrect a deceased ringleader of a fraud scheme that resulted in the kidnapping of their daughters. Full of dark themes, action, and suspense, The Resurrected could be the biggest surprise streaming hit on Netflix this week. Binge it.
October 10
The Last Frontier

If you’re a fan of shows like Undercover Boss or Undercover Billionaire and of shows about fine dining, this 8-episode series produced by Gordon Ramsay is worth checking out. Binge it.
Kurukshetra
Netflix will release a new original animated series that is inspired by the epic Hindu tale, the Mahabharata. The series trailer, which was just released online last week, has already accrued nearly 8 million views, suggesting that this series will be an international streaming hit. October 11

Netflix will release another new K-drama series this week titled Typhoon Family. Set during the 1997 financial crisis in South Korea, the series will follow a young CEO who tries to keep his father’s small business afloat despite the troubling times. October 12
Matlock
The season 2 premiere of Matlock starring Kathy Bates will be released on CBS and Paramount+ this week. Bates is still fresh off her 2025 Emmy nomination for her lead role as the clever attorney Madeline Matlock in season 1. Matlock was the most-watched new broadcast TV show of 2024, and the 77-year-old Bates is still at the top of her game – binge it.
Elsbeth
Season 3 of Elsbeth also premieres this week on CBS and Paramount+. It has a similar premise to Matlock, although its lead attorney, played by Carrie Preston, is considered more unconventional and idiosyncratic. If you only have room for one new CBS broadcast legal drama this week, make it Matlock over Elsbeth. Skip it.
