With the Family: Pumpkin Palooza
Wallace’s Garden Center, 2605 Devils Glen Road, Bettendorf, is hosting a two-day Pumpkin Palooza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28.
The event will feature a corn box for kids, train rides, inflatable slides, bean bag tosses, sidewalk chalk, face painting and other games. A live DJ will spin family-friendly songs during the event. Multiple food trucks and vendors will be in attendance.
Popcorn will be provided for free, and cider apples and donuts will be available for sale.
Admissions is free, though the train rides cost $2 and face painting costs $5. The store will have discounts available for customers purchasing pumpkins.
Medieval Meandering: Greater Quad Cities Renaissance Faire
The Greater Quad Cities Renaissance Festival returns Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28, at Credit Island, 2301 W. River Dr., Davenport. The festival includes jousting, fortune-telling, martial arts, fire play, music and more. A full schedule will be released on the Greater Quad Cities Renaissance Faire Facebook page prior to the event.
Nearly 70 vendors selling medieval-themed items like handmade clothing, weapons, wood art and jewelry will attend.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival will also return for a second weekend Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 5.
Adult tickets are $18 for one day and $30 for both days. Children 6 through 13 enter for $10 for one day and $16 for two days.
On a Date: Finals of the Laugh Hard Challenge
The Circa ’21 Speakeasy, 1818 Third Ave., Rock Island, will host the final round of the Laugh Hard Challenge, a month-long comedy championship, from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.

The championship began with 30 comedians from Iowa, Illinois, Colorado and Nebraska. After two preliminary rounds, judges selected 10 comedians who will compete Saturday for a $1,000 prize. Comedians will be judged on material, stage presence and audience response.
Attendees must be 18 or older to attend.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Tickets can be bought at tickets.circa21.com or 309-786-7733.
On a Budget: Railside Concert Series at Pour Bros. Craft Taproom
Pour Bros. Craft Taproom, 1209 Fourth Ave. Ste. 2, Moline, will host its final show in the Railside Concert Series from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.
The Railside Concert Series is an annual series spotlighting Quad-Cities musicians on Saturdays during the summer. The 2025 series began on May 24 with the Beth Lizano Trio.
This Saturday, the Avey Grouws Duo, a blues duo formed from the Quad-Cities group the Avey Grouws Band, will perform. The show is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket.
Dine and Drink: Oktoberfist at Wake Brewing
Wake Brewing, 2529 Fifth Ave., Rock Island, is hosting a combined Oktoberfest and wrestling event called “Oktoberfist” from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.
SCWPro, an eastern Iowa sports entertainment company, will host live wrestling, promised to be “brutal,” according to the brewery. The Quad-Cities metal band St. October will perform.
The brewery will be tapping Masa Of Puppets Dark Lager, with 100 new glass steins available. Hangry Haven will serve food.
The event is free.
