Madurai, Tamil Nadu, known for its rich history, culture, and temples, is gradually emerging as a hub for small businesses and start-ups. Increasing entrepreneurial interest, coupled with affordable living and advancement in technology, has attracted and elevated industries like textiles, e-commerce, and manufacturing. The city’s cultural heritage has given rise to renowned products, including Sungudi sarees, handicrafts, and traditional jewellery.As of December 12, 2024, Madurai has a total of 214,109 registered MSMEs, according to data from the Udyam portal. Out of these, 211,676 are micro enterprises, 2,273 are XXX and 160 are micro enterprises.
