The two, who have been openly campaigning against each other in the run-up to the state elections, were seen avoiding any direct exchange during the encounter. The tense moment, captured during a podcast by YouTuber Samdish, quickly went viral across social media platforms. The clip shows Tej Pratap browsing through Nehru jackets at an airport store when his aide informs him that Tejashwi is passing by. The younger Yadav, accompanied by Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahani, acknowledges the YouTuber but doesn’t greet his elder brother. Instead, Tejashwi jokes with Samdish, asking if his “Bhaiya” is buying him gifts, before walking away. Strained bonds As Tejashwi walks off, Tej Pratap is seen silently watching him, his expression noticeably strained. When asked by the YouTuber if he and Tejashwi were on speaking terms, he brushes off the question, replying vaguely, “He is doing fine.” The cold exchange, or lack thereof, comes amid intensifying political rivalry between the siblings. Tej Pratap, now leading his Janshakti Janata Dal, has fielded candidates in 22 constituencies, including Raghopur, the family stronghold where Tejashwi is contesting on an RJD ticket. His father, party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced the decision following a controversy over a social media post featuring a woman identified as Anushka Yadav. Lalu said Tej Pratap’s behaviour “ignored moral values” and was “not in line with the family’s principles,” removing him from both the party and the family for six years. Tejashwi, who now handles most RJD affairs, publicly endorsed the decision, saying certain actions “cannot be tolerated.”
