Ruben Amorim could sell the Man Utd star (Picture: Getty) Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been told he has already played his last game for the club. United fans had high hopes for Onana following his £47m move from Inter Milan in 2023. Onana helped Inter reach the Champions League final that season and won three league titles at Ajax before his spell in Italy. Those three Eredivisie title wins all came under Erik ten Hag and the Dutch boss was delighted to bring his former goalkeeper to Old Trafford. While he was United’s No. 1 for two seasons, Onana never inspired complete confidence and made a number of errors unbefitting of a goalkeeper for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Onana lost his place in the team at the start of the season, with Ruben Amorim favouring Altay Bayindir, who also looked less than convincing. Manchester United then signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day before sending Onana on loan to Trabzonspor. But three-time title winner Lee Sharpe would be ‘very surprised’ if Onana played another game for United, especially given the encouraging start to Lammens’ Red Devils career. ‘I would be very surprised if Andre Onana came back to the club after leaving on loan in the summer,’ the former Manchester United winger told Adventure Gamers. I think we have seen the end of Onana at Old Trafford.’ Lammens, who United signed for £18m, kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut before helping Amorim’s side seal a rare win over Liverpool at Anfield. ‘Senne Lammens has made some great saves already for Manchester United and seems very calm,’ Sharpe added. Amorim’s side travel to north London to face Tottenham on Saturday. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
