The top economic development honcho in Mayor Eric Adams’ administration is seeking to retain his post with Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, The Post has learned. Andrew Kimball, the president of the city’s Economic Development Corporation, is seeking to stay on as EDC chief in the Mamdani administration — and has the support of the city’s influential business advocacy group. “Andrew Kimball is among the outstanding members of the Adams administration who has worked closely with the business community to build a stronger and more diverse economy,” said Kathryn Wylde, CEO of the prominent Partnership for New York City. “We would welcome his reappointment to the CEO role at EDC,” she said. The Mamdani transition team declined to comment. Kimball also declined to comment. The EDC chief is a valued member of the Adams’ administration with close ties to the current mayor and key associates. He wrote the foreword for the book written by Adams’ longtime political confidante and former chief of staff Frank Carone, “Everyone Wins.” Kimball previously served as the CEO of Industry City, where he oversaw the transformation of the long-underutilized industrial facility in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and before that he headed the Brooklyn Navy Yard Corporation. The EDC is involved in virtually every major economic development project in the city. For example, the not-for-profit agency is converting an infamous mothballed jail barge in Hunts Point in The Bronx into a new marine facility. The agency also oversees thes subsidized NYC Ferry service, waterfront development and leasing
