This transfer certificate ensures that Provident Fund accumulations and pension service are transferred to the new EPF account.EPFO Latest Update: ‘Passbook Lite’ Launch; EPFO makes changes for faster claim settlement, reduced processing timeAccording to a Ministry of Labour and Employment circular on September 18, 2025, “With a view to enhance transparency and ensure greater convenience for PF members, the Transfer Certificate in Annexure K has now been made available for download in the Member Portal for convenience.”What information does Annexure K form contain?Annexure K is an EPF document that includes the member’s data, PF balance with interest, complete service history of EPS benefit computation, dates of joining and exit of an EPF member, and job details such as past and present MID. According to a tweet by EPFO, “Annexure K is a EPF document which mentions the member details, his PF accumulations with interest, service history, Date of joining, and Date of exit and employment details including past and present MID. This document is required by the Field Office/Trust to effect a transfer in.”How is Annexure K generated?At present, when employees (EPF members) change their jobs, their EPF accounts are transferred online to the new employer’s PF office through Form 13 . Following the transfer, the old PF office generates a transfer certificate (Annexure K) and sends it to the new PF office.Until now, Annexure K was only shared between PF offices and was made available to members only on their request.Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, has said that now members can directly download Annexure K in the PDF format from the Member Portal itself as and when the form is required. Transfer claims also get auto-initiated on receipt of the first month’s contribution in the latest employment subject to certain validations and such claims get processed without the need for filing a separate Form 13 by the member. On the successful processing of Form 13, the Transfer Certificate in Annexure K will be generated by the Transferor (Source) Office where the member’s previous establishment/account is serviced and forwarded to the Transferee (Destination) Office, where the member’s present establishment/account is serviced for crediting the PF accumulations as well as the Pension Service.How to view and download Annexure KTo make the process more transparent and user-friendly, EPFO has enabled online access to Annexure K for members. It can be downloaded directly from the EPFO Member Portal by following these steps:Step 1: Log in to the Member Portal.Step 2: Go to Online Services.Step 3: Click on Track Claim Status.Select and Download Annexure K from the available options. How will it be beneficial to members?Mandaviya says that EPF members can now track the status of transfer applications online. It will ensure full transparency and allow members to easily verify their PF transfers.He says there will be confirmation that the PF balance and service period are correctly updated in the new account.Through this, permanent digital records for future references will be maintained, which will be important for EPS benefit calculations, the minister says.
